in those moments. imagine remembering that kind of pain every time you're driving to the hoop? i think he's not only scared, but also ashamed of his fear. there's no other reason he would be not only declining this contract, but cutting himself off from his teammates. this is all speculation of course, but i just can't see pat being so unreasonable as to think he's too good for this team/contract, especially after the disappointing injury-ridden season last year. this sounds more rational than any purported reasons out there.
