I think the best approach for Saturday would be to start with a light lunch around noon and then have the main meal later in the evening around seven. For the main course I was considering a roasted chicken with herbs and seasonal vegetables on the side. Let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions I should plan for. I can also prepare a vegetarian option if needed. For dessert I was thinking of a simple fruit tart or maybe a chocolate cake if people prefer something richer. We should have enough seating for everyone if we bring in the extra chairs from the garage. I will pick up ingredients on Thursday evening to avoid the weekend crowds. Please let me know if you want to bring anything to share. I also thought we could take a walk after lunch to enjoy the weather before settling in for the evening. There is a nice path by the river that takes about twenty minutes and the foliage should be lovely this time of year. I will send a reminder to everyone on Friday with the final plan and directions.

I checked the measurements for the bookshelf project and it looks like we need about twelve feet of lumber for the shelves and another eight feet for the frame. The hardware store on Main Street has the oak boards in stock but they are a bit thicker than what we originally planned. I think that will actually work better because the shelves will be sturdier. I can pick up the supplies on Tuesday morning if that works for you. We will need wood glue and finishing nails as well. The stain color you picked should look really nice with the grain of the oak. I can bring my miter saw and sander to make the assembly go faster. Let me know what time works for you to meet up. I also found some brass shelf brackets that would add a nice detail to the design. They are in the hardware section near the drawer pulls. I measured the wall space in the living room and the bookshelf should fit perfectly between the window and the doorway.
