0maha-Steak's Has Reserved a Steak SampIer for You - 5OO Left - T0day 0nly

Thanks for your note about the hiking trip out near Mount Rainier next weekend. I have been looking at the trail maps and I think the Skyline Loop would be a good choice for our group since several folks mentioned they wanted something moderate. The elevation gain is around 1450 feet and the full loop is about 5.5 miles which should take us roughly four to five hours depending on how often we stop for photos. I checked the weather forecast and it looks like partly cloudy with highs near 68 which is perfect for hiking. We should plan to start early around 7 AM to beat the crowds and secure parking because that lot fills up fast on Saturdays. I will bring my camp stove so we can make coffee at the trailhead. Please remind everyone to pack layers and plenty of water. There are a few stream crossings but nothing too difficult this time of year. Let me know if anyone needs to borrow trekking poles because I have an extra pair. I am looking forward to it and I think this will be a great way to spend the day.

I wanted to follow up on your question about the community garden plots for this season. The committee has set aside twelve raised beds near the south entrance and they measure roughly four by eight feet each. We have a mix of sun and partial shade across the available spots so you can choose based on what you plan to grow. The soil was tested last month and the results showed good pH balance with adequate organic matter. We will be doing a joint compost delivery on the first Saturday of next month if you want to amend your bed before planting. There is a water spigot at each end of the garden row so hauling water should not be too difficult. The membership fee covers the entire growing season and includes access to the tool shed. I reserved a bed for you already but you need to confirm by the end of this week. Let me know if you want the sunny spot near the fence or the partly shaded one closer to the shed. I think you will really enjoy it once things start growing.
