Yes, updated report to follow, Your post is notched to support a beam, not a joist. (semantics.) You are rightfully worried about the top of the posts, but what about the bottom of the "notch" It is the bearing surface for the beam, and it may be rotted worse than the top of the post, since moisture can get trapped there. You might want to stab the post with a pick there, to see if the bottom of the notch is still solid.

Recently, I've been experimenting with new cooking recipes and thought it would be interesting to share some of our favorite meal ideas. I recently made an exquisite risotto, and it was delicious! Does anyone have any go-to recipes or culinary tips they'd like to share Excited to hear your culinary adventures! /-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/- Best, Anthony From: Sarah Lopez Date: October 8, 2024, 08:35 AM Hi Anthony and everyone, That sounds beautiful, Anthony! One of my favorite recipes is crafting homemade pasta. I use a mix of semolina and eggs for a silky texture. It's quick, fulfilling, and always a hit. A culinary tip I can share: always season your water before using it. It enhances flavors, especially when you're boiling pasta. Happy cooking! Cheers, Sarah /-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/- From: Emma Brown Date: October 8, 2024, 10:20 AM Good morning all, Anthony, your risotto sounds amazing! I love working with flavors too. Recently, I completed a dessert dish that uses chocolate and berries. It's sweet and zesty without being too overpowering. Sarah, seasoning water in advance is a game-changer. I also like to try a spice blend approach, where spices and herbs are mixed in advance. It helps with flavor and prevents cooking anxiety. Can't wait to hear more! I've been experimenting with baking lately. My latest creation is a sourdough loaf that's both crunchy and soft. It's perfect for a meal centerpiece or to enjoy with butter. One tip for baking: always use fresh ingredients. It helps in achieving the best taste and quality in your batch. Looking forward to exchanging more ideas! Regards, Liam
