Local Area Zone: Changes are outlines below: Correct, OK, well, I guess I will go with joint compound instead. I have no artistic skill to work with plaster. I am not a huge fan of the cracking that will occur. However, I also wonder about whether or not I should just replace all the plaster with drywall. The plaster is usually good, but it is cracked in many places. But, I also think replacing ALL the plaster, walls and ceilings, will take a LONG time.
f you are doing plaster, i would using Structolite for your first coat.ise a spray bottle to wet the old edges of the plaster as well as the wood lath. Mix the structolite a little stiff and apply pushing it thru the lath, which is how it holds on to the lath. If the hole is large, and you are a time, you may want to do this in steps in that you do tje 6 inches or so from the old edge on the first pass, let it set up for an hour or so, and then do the next 6 inches or so, until you get to the center.

I'm a big fan of historical fiction myself. One book I really enjoyed recently was set in medieval Europe—very immersive! If I could recommend a tip: always keep a reading journal. It makes recalling great moments and quotes so much easier later on. Happy reading!
