i think we should rather look at how corporations use advertisement to affect our culture and purchases. seeing so many mc donald ads is really weird. it's like seeing those old cigarette ads. same thing with bull like the food pyramid. but i think there is a very important point that we should not miss: cultural changes comes from the people. no matter how much mcd is throwing in ads, we can keep talking about how reducing meat consumption would benefit us all, about how to do that, what to eat instead etc... if you look at pretty much any big social movement of the past
