Walmart points: use and convert today - last day

Hey, I finally got around to watching that documentary you mentioned. The one about the ocean cleanup. It was pretty eye-opening, especially the part about how much plastic actually gets recycled versus what ends up in the gyres. I had no idea the scale of the problem was that massive. The engineering behind the floating barriers is fascinating though. Anyway, it's definitely worth the watch if you haven't checked it out already. Let me know what you think if you do! Also, are we still on for coffee this Saturday? I found that little place on Elm Street we were talking about. Supposedly they have amazing croissants. Let me know. I'm free most of the afternoon. Hope you're having a good week so far.

I finally finished repainting the living room over the weekend. I went with a lighter shade of gray than last time, and it makes such a huge difference in how bright the space feels. The old color was starting to feel a bit too dark and gloomy, especially in the winter months. I used that matte finish paint you recommended, and it went on really smoothly. Just needed two coats total. Still need to touch up a few spots near the ceiling where the tape lifted a bit. Next up is probably the hallway, but I think I need a break from painting for a week or two. How's that project you were working on coming along?

Hey, I just got back from that new hiking trail everyone has been talking about. It was absolutely worth the drive. The views from the top were incredible, and the weather was perfect. We started early to avoid the midday heat and brought plenty of water and snacks. The trail was moderately challenging but very well marked. I think you and your family would really enjoy it. Let me know if you want me to send you the directions or recommend a good time to go. Also, I'm thinking of planning another trip next month if you're interested. We could make it a whole day outing with a picnic afterward. I heard there is a nice spot by the lake nearby.

I finally finished that book you recommended. It was a slow start for me, but by the third chapter I was completely hooked. The character development was incredible, and the plot twists kept me guessing until the very end. I even stayed up late a few nights just to finish one more chapter. Have you read any of the author's other works? I'm thinking about picking up her earlier novel next. Also, I wanted to let you know that the Italian restaurant on Main Street has a new chef, and the pasta dishes are amazing now. We should go there sometime together. Let me know when you're free.

1OO.OO & Ring Doorbell - Thanks from ACE

Yeah I totally agree with you on that point. We tried the new bakery over on Elm Street last weekend and honestly the croissants were just okay. The line was out the door which felt a little overhyped. I think next time we should just grab coffee at that quiet spot near the park instead. Let me know what you think about Saturday morning around ten. I should be free after nine so anytime after that works fine for me. Bring along that novel you mentioned I have been meaning to borrow it for weeks. Anyway let me know what works for your schedule and we can figure out the details then. I also heard they have a farmers market set up nearby so we could wander through that after. Sounds like a nice relaxed way to start the weekend if you ask me. Let me know.

Oh that sounds great I am glad you went ahead and signed up for the pottery workshop. I have been thinking about taking something similar actually. The teacher you mentioned has really good reviews so I bet it will be a fun experience. Let me know how the first session goes and what you end up making. I am still working on that garden project I told you about last week. It is taking longer than expected but I am making progress little by little. The weather has been perfect for working outside so that helps a lot. I also finally started reading that book you recommended last month and I am really into it so far. The writing style is surprisingly engaging. Hope we can catch up properly soon maybe over coffee or a walk in the park. Let me know what works for you.

A Personal Thank-You for Your Marriot Stay

Thanks for sending over the draft agenda for the planning session next Tuesday. I think we should carve out at least 40 minutes for the budget review since there are several line items that will need discussion. Mark mentioned he may join late so perhaps we can front-load the items that don't require his input. I also wanted to circle back on the catering order the lunch choices looked fine but we might need to confirm the vegetarian count by Friday. The conference room on the second floor is already booked so we are set on that front.

Let me know if you need me to prepare any additional materials before the meeting starts.

I checked the calendar for the weekend after next and Saturday seems wide open for a road trip to the lake. The weather outlook shows mild temperatures with some clouds but nothing that should cause any issues. I was thinking we could leave around 7 am from the usual meeting spot and pack sandwiches for a lunch stop at the picnic area near the north shore. The drive is roughly two hours each way so we would have plenty of daylight to hike the perimeter trail and maybe fit in a short swim if the water is comfortable. Let me know if you want to invite anyone else from the group. I can drive since my trunk has enough room for everyone's gear. We should probably bring extra towels and a couple of blankets just in case it cools down toward evening.

Check out the options for your changing 2026 plan

Yeah I think raised beds would work really well in that corner of your yard. The soil there gets good afternoon sun and drains quickly after rain. You might want to add compost mix before planting anything though. I found that tomatoes and peppers did really well last season with just basic care. Basil planted nearby helped keep pests away naturally. You can start seeds indoors about six weeks before the last frost date for your zone.

That timing usually works well for getting strong transplants ready by spring.

We should set up the tables along the side of the park near the shade trees so food stays cooler longer. Everyone I talked to said they will bring a dish to share. I will make sure we have enough plates and utensils this time. The playground nearby works great for kids while adults visit. We might need to ask a few more neighbors to help with setup and cleanup though.

I think we can manage the whole thing in about two hours if we start by mid morning.

Don't neglect your ExtraCare balance - quick check

Hey, I was thinking about what you said yesterday and I totally get where you're coming from. The whole situation with the project timeline shifted again and I know that threw everyone off a bit. I had a conversation with Mark this morning and he mentioned that the team is actually handling it pretty well considering the circumstances. The new deadlines feel tight but doable if we focus on the core deliverables first and push the nice-to-haves to the next sprint. I really think we can make this work if we just stay in close communication over the next couple of weeks. Let me know if you want to sync up later this week to align on priorities. I could do Thursday afternoon or Friday morning if either of those work for you.
Also I wanted to mention that I finally tried that new coffee place on Elm Street and it was really good. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, perfect for getting some work done away from the office. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts on the project stuff. Talk soon!

So about that book I was telling you about last week — I finally finished it last night and honestly I have mixed feelings. The first half was really engaging and I couldn't put it down but somewhere around chapter twelve it started to drag a bit. The character development was solid throughout though and the ending was satisfying enough that I'd still recommend it overall. My sister read it last month and she had pretty much the same reaction so I think it's just one of those books that has a slower middle section. I started the next book in the series already and it's picking up the pace nicely so far. Let me know if you want to borrow my copy.
Also I ran into Jen at the grocery store yesterday and she said the hiking trip got rescheduled to the first weekend of next month. She's going to send out an updated itinerary later this week. I'm really looking forward to it especially since the weather should be perfect for it by then. I need to dig out my hiking boots and make sure they still fit. Anyway just wanted to share my thoughts on the book and the trip update.

Use your Walmart points now and convert them - final day

Hey, I just got back from picking up those supplies you asked about. The hardware store had everything we needed for the shelf project. I ended up going with the pre-cut pine boards since they were on sale and saved us a trip to the cutting station. Also grabbed extra sandpaper because we always run out halfway through. Let me know if you want me to drop them off tonight or tomorrow morning. I can swing by after my walk if that works better for you. I think we can finish the whole thing in an afternoon if we start early. Anyway, just let me know what works for your schedule. Happy to help out whenever.

I finally tried that pasta recipe you sent me last week and it came out really well. I swapped the mushrooms for zucchini since that is what I had in the fridge and added a little extra garlic because you can never have too much. The sauce thickened perfectly after about fifteen minutes on low heat. My family kept going back for seconds so I will definitely be making it again. Let me know if you have any other easy weeknight dinners. I am always looking for something that does not require a ton of prep but still tastes homemade. Hope you are doing well.

Convert your points this week prior to expiry

Yeah, I totally see your point about the garden layout. If we move the hydrangeas to the back corner they won't get scorched by the afternoon sun. I was also thinking we could add a small gravel path curving around the side. It would make maintenance a lot easier and give it a cleaner look. My neighbor did something similar last year and it turned out really well. We should probably sketch out the dimensions first before buying any materials. Let me know if you want to grab a coffee and walk through the backyard this weekend. I found a couple of nice stepping stone options online that might work. Anyway just a few ideas rolling around in my head. Let me know what you think.

I finally got around to reorganizing the garage last weekend and it feels so much better in there. I found boxes of old photos and some tools I completely forgot I owned. It took the better part of Saturday but being able to park the car inside again is a huge win. I used those clear stackable bins you recommended and labeled everything with a marker. It makes finding things so much easier. I also hung up a pegboard for the frequently used tools. Next on the list is the shed but that might have to wait until spring. Hope you are having a good week and getting outside while the weather holds up.

I just finished up that project we talked about and honestly it turned out better than I expected. The whole thing took about three weekends but the final result is something I'm really proud of. I changed the approach halfway through after watching a few tutorials and that made all the difference. My neighbor stopped by and asked if I had hired someone so that felt pretty good. I think the key was taking my time with the prep work because that really shows in the end. Anyway I wanted to share that with you since you were the one who encouraged me to start it in the first place. Let me know when you want to come see it in person. We could grab lunch after and catch up properly. I've been meaning to ask you about that thing you mentioned a while back too. The timing just never seemed right but I'd love to hear more about it whenever you're free to chat. Hope everything is going well on your end. Talk soon. dhHY81JLqPYSm5I

That documentary you told me about finally popped up on my watchlist so I sat down and watched it last night. I was not prepared for how gripping it would be from the first few minutes. The cinematography alone was worth the time but the story underneath it all really made me think. I ended up staying up way later than I planned because I couldn't pause it. There is one scene in particular that I keep replaying in my head. I think you would appreciate the way they wove together the personal stories with the broader context. It reminded me of a conversation we had a few months ago about how we both prefer character-driven narratives over spectacle-driven ones. Anyway I already started looking for similar films to watch this weekend. If you have any other recommendations send them my way. I trust your taste more than most people's. Hope you are having a good week. Let me know when you want to grab coffee again.

Gratitude for That Marriot Stay

Hi, just thinking about our hiking trip next weekend. I was checking the weather and it looks like we might get some rain on Saturday. Maybe we should switch to Sunday instead. I also wanted to see if you wanted to carpool because parking at the trailhead can be tight. Let me know what you think. I’ll bring snacks and plenty of water. The trail map shows a loop around the lake, about six miles. Should be manageable. Talk soon.

I was telling my brother about the new pasta recipe I tried last night. It uses roasted cherry tomatoes and basil, and it turned out pretty good. He asked if I could share the steps, so I wrote them down quickly. First you toss the tomatoes with olive oil and garlic, then roast for about twenty minutes. Meanwhile cook the pasta and reserve some water. Then combine everything with fresh basil and a little parmesan. It is simple but very flavorful. Let me know if you try it.

I meant to reply earlier, but the afternoon ran away from me and I just got back to the note. I think your plan makes sense, especially the part about keeping it simple and not trying to squeeze too many activities into one day.

I usually do better when I leave a little space between things, otherwise I end up rushing and missing half of what I wanted to enjoy. If the weather stays mild, a walk first would be a nice way to ease into everything.

I can bring the extra notebook if you still want it, and I remembered the charger this time, so that should solve the issue from last week. Let me know what time feels easiest for you. I am flexible in the morning and early afternoon, but I would rather avoid a late evening if possible because I am trying to get back into a better routine.

I looked over the notes you sent and I agree with your idea to pause before making another change. Sometimes a little distance makes the next step clearer, and it seems like you already noticed what is working and what is draining your energy.

I had a similar week where every small task somehow felt bigger than it should have, so I started writing down only three things to focus on each day. That helped more than I expected because it gave the day some shape without making it feel packed from the start.

If you want, send me the revised version whenever you are ready and I can read through it again tonight. I am around after dinner and tomorrow morning too. Also, thanks for checking in the other day. I did end up taking that short walk, and it cleared my head enough to finally sleep better.

Need a quick look? Your ExtraCare balance does

I finally got around to organizing the garage over the weekend and it feels like a completely different space now. I installed those wall-mounted shelves we talked about and they made a huge difference. I can actually park my car inside now without worrying about scraping the roof. The best part was finding my old vinyl collection that was buried under a bunch of boxes. I completely forgot I had some of those albums. I spent the whole evening just flipping through them and listening to a few. The sound quality on vinyl is just unmatched, even with my basic setup. Anyway, if you need any help with your storage situation, let me know. I've become a bit of an expert after this project. I also started looking into restoring an old table lamp I found at a thrift store last year, so that might be my next weekend project.

I've been experimenting with sourdough starter for the past few weeks and it's been quite the adventure. The first batch I made was way too sour and dense, but I've been tweaking the hydration levels and proofing times and the latest loaf came out almost perfect. There's something incredibly satisfying about the whole process, from mixing the flour and water to watching it rise over several hours. The crust got beautifully crispy and the inside was soft with those nice airy pockets. I think the key was using a mix of bread flour and whole wheat and keeping the starter in a warmer spot in the kitchen during the winter months. I'm planning to try adding some seeds and oats to the next batch to see how it changes the texture and flavor profile.
