Is this just a random thought, or is it part of a story you are writing?RonJohn2 hours ago

Is the mountain built into the ground? For example, suddenly wedging a mountain into the earth will probably cause an earthquake at the very least.John Locke2 hours ago
  • I have suggested an edit to your question to improve grammar and remove the question form the title. Please do not ask the question in the title, it belongs in the body of the post, and the title should be a short description.John Locke2 hours ago
  • Mountains are very very heavy. The first thing which will happen is that the mountain will sink into the ground, causinginterestingimmediate effects, such as earthquakes and large transformations of the topography all around. After a while things will settle down, and long term effects will begin to emerge; to knowwhatthose will be we would need to know how big the mountain is,in what desertandwhereis the mountain supposed to appear. A mountain in the middle of the Grand Erg Oriental is one thing, a mountain in the Thar near the Great Rann of Kutch may be quite another.AlexP2 hours ago

This cool engraver can laser an image onto leather, paper, glass, or wood. Want to put your initials on cup? An emblem on your wallet? It's crazy how far technology has come...

@JohnLocke sure it matters, because a random and ambiguous answer is more likely to be VTC POB than an poorly worded question that OP (who presumably knows what he wants) can resurrect via editing.RonJohn2 hours ago
  • @AlexP You should expand that into an answerJohn Locke2 hours ago
  • Welcome to worldbuilding stack exchange. I suggest you try to be more specific about what you want to get as an answer. For this specific question, immediate change, long term change, do you have a goal or reason to prove or find out, do you want to get to some specific setting or anything goes, etc. Also, if you tell more about your set up, where's the desert, who live there, what happens there of relevance. Although you don't need to overly add those suggestion, I think you'll find better answers if you add more clarity.Faed1 hour ago

How does energy get from the wyrm to where it's going? (Ignore the distance. Just focus on how it gets across the room.) Is it a liquid? A gas? An electrical charge? A satchel full of empowered rune stones? Mechanical energy used to, e.g., raise water and turn waterwheels?CadenceSep 29 at 18:52
