I've wondered this too. I think they think all inhabited landmasses are arranged like a map on a disc (this raises the question of how they chose their preferred projection) with what we think of as the poles actually being a massive ice wall. So the "split" would be somewhere in the mid Pacific, which raises further questions about historical wars, international trade, and any other transpacific journey, and why no one has ever seen the ice wall from a high vantage point, and to whose advantage it is to contrive a roughly consistent story of history and physics that's totally fabricated.
