the arm version of macos. macbook is staying because it represents a product category. we will have a redesign shortly to tie everything off. 100 dollars cheaper. seriously shocked they didn?t drop the macbook to 1000 to match the old air. smaller screen is not necessarily a downgrade. portability costs . so they announce an updated super light macbook air... and new beefcake ipad pro with usb c? touting how it can smash most laptop pcs? what is with apple's product line? the ipad pro and the air are approach the same demographic, the only difference really being ios vs macos but they're getting so functionally close now they're essentially gimping ios to stop it cannibalising the macos machines. they really need to unify and consolidate their line, and save themselves and the consumers a tonne of in development and maintenance. it?ll silently be discontinued next year on second thought... this. once inventory is depleted throughout apple's retail channels, poof! the rmb and rmbp 13 (ntb) is gone. as someone that loves his macbook, i thought i'd give some context for my decision
