i think the best way to handle the scheduling is to push the meeting to thursday instead of wednesday because jenna has a conflict and we really need her input on the q3 review. also the conference room we booked is only available after 2pm so that works out better anyway. let me know if you want me to send out a new calendar invite or if youd rather just move the whole thing to next week. honestly either way works for me but i prefer thursday if we can swing it because friday is always a mess with early releases and i dont want to rush through the agenda like last time. we also need to decide if we are including the external vendors or keeping it internal only because that changes how many seats we need and whether we need to dial in via zoom or can do in person. i think internal only is better for this round since the feedback from last sprint was pretty raw and i want to keep the conversation open without worrying about optics. anyway let me know what you think and i can adjust the invite accordingly. also i grabbed coffee from that new place on main street and it was surprisingly good so maybe i will bring a thermos to the meeting.
honestly the project timeline is looking a lot better than i expected given how rocky the kickoff was last month. we had some issues with data migration and the api integration took longer than anticipated but now that those are behind us i feel like we can actually hit the october deadline without burning everyone out. i talked to devon this morning and he said the front end is basically done except for a few edge cases that only pop up in safari which is annoying but manageable. i told him to prioritize the fix before we push to staging because i dont want qa to flag it and slow us down again. also maria mentioned that the documentation needs to be updated before the handoff so i will ask her to start drafting that this week. i think if we stay on top of the blockers and keep communication tight we will be in good shape. let me know if you see any red flags i might be missing because i dont want to get blindsided like we did with the vendor compliance issue last quarter. that was a nightmare and i still think we should have caught it sooner.

i ended up taking the dogs to the park near the river trail yesterday and honestly it was exactly what i needed after the week i had. the weather was perfect not too hot and not too cold and there were hardly any people around so the pups could run off leash without me worrying about them bothering anyone. my older dog bella just wanted to sniff every single bush which is her thing now that she is getting grey around the muzzle and my younger one otto practically sprinted the entire time like he was training for something. i sat on the bench near the big oak tree and read a few chapters of that book i started last month and it actually clicked for me this time. i dont know if it was the fresh air or just being away from screens but i finally got into the rhythm of the story. i think i will try to make that a wednesday ritual if i can swing it because i need more days like that and less days staring at my inbox. anyway just wanted to share that because you mentioned you were looking for low key spots to take your dog too. the river trail is easy to find and the parking lot is usually empty after 4pm on weekdays so give it a shot if you want a quiet walk.
i finally started organizing the garage cabinets last weekend and it was way more satisfying than i thought it would be. i found an old box of vinyl records that my uncle gave me like ten years ago and i had completely forgotten about them. there was a beat up copy of rumours by fleetwood mac and a few jazz records that are probably not worth anything but sound great on my turntable. i cleaned them up and played one while i was sorting through the rest of the boxes and it made the whole chore feel like a cozy afternoon instead of a dreaded project. also found a stack of polaroid photos from college which was a wild trip down memory lane because i honestly do not remember half of those nights. the garage still looks chaotic but at least now i can actually walk through it without tripping over camping gear and old holiday decorations. next weekend i am tackling the closet in the spare room and i already know that one is going to be a disaster but i am oddly looking forward to it because there is something nice about rediscovering things you forgot you owned. let me know if you ever want to dig through my pile of old books because i found at least a dozen i am ready to pass along.
