Yeah, I totally get what you mean about the timing. I ended up going for a long walk along the river trail yesterday afternoon and it was exactly what I needed. The leaves are starting to turn just a bit at the edges and the light was that soft golden kind that makes everything look like a painting. I brought a small thermos of tea and just sat on a bench for a while watching the water move. There was a heron standing perfectly still near the bank and I must have stared at it for ten minutes before it finally lifted off. I didn't even think about work or anything pressing the whole time. It’s funny how sometimes the best plan is to have no plan at all. My friend had mentioned the trail a few weeks back but I kept putting it off. Wish I had gone sooner but better late than never. Anyway, thought I’d share since you were asking about good spots to unwind. MyJkBTyMO1 There’s a little café near the trailhead too if you want to grab something after.

Oh I was just telling my sister about that same thing yesterday. She had asked if I had tried the new Thai place near the library and I said not yet but I keep meaning to. I ended up making a big pot of vegetable soup from scratch instead and it turned out really well. I used sweet potatoes and leeks and a little bit of ginger and it had this nice warmth without being heavy. My neighbor stopped by while I was letting it simmer and I sent her home with a container. She texted me later saying it was exactly what she needed because she was fighting off a cold. I love when food works out that way. Anyway I think I’ll try that restaurant next week once things settle down a bit. Let me know if you want me to pick something up for you.
