I checked the trail conditions for next weekend and it looks like the lower loop should be fine even if we get some rain earlier in the week. The upper section might still have some muddy patches but nothing too challenging. I was thinking we could start around 7 in the morning if that works for you, that way we'll have plenty of daylight to take our time and maybe stop for lunch at the overlook. The ranger station mentioned there's been some wildlife activity near the creek so we should pack any food carefully. I'll bring the map and compass just in case the phone signal is spotty. I also looked into the campsite reservation and it looks like site 14 is available which has a nice level area for the tent and a fire ring.
