Get Your Steak SampIer From 0maha-Steak's - 5OO Remain

I think the best approach for Saturday's get-together would be to keep it simple with a few well-chosen dishes rather than trying to prepare everything at once. I've been testing that tomato basil sauce recipe you mentioned and it actually works better if you let it simmer for about an hour longer than the recipe suggests. The flavors meld together more completely. I also found that adding a splash of balsamic vinegar near the end brightens it up without making it taste acidic. Let me know if you want me to bring a batch along. I can prep most of it Friday evening so it's ready to go. For the side dish, I think roasted vegetables would pair nicely and they're easy to do in larger quantities. Just toss them with olive oil and herbs and let the oven do the work.

I picked up some fresh basil from the market this morning and it smells wonderful. The recipe calls for dried but I think fresh will add a brighter note. I'll chop it finely and stir it in just before serving so it stays vibrant. If the weather cooperates we could set up a small table outside, but I know the forecast has been uncertain lately. Either way the kitchen has plenty of counter space for setting everything out buffet style. Let me know if there's anything else I should bring or if you want me to adjust the quantities.

I checked the trail conditions for next weekend and it looks like the lower loop should be fine even if we get some rain earlier in the week. The upper section might still have some muddy patches but nothing too challenging. I was thinking we could start around 7 in the morning if that works for you, that way we'll have plenty of daylight to take our time and maybe stop for lunch at the overlook. The ranger station mentioned there's been some wildlife activity near the creek so we should pack any food carefully. I'll bring the map and compass just in case the phone signal is spotty. Let me know if you need me to pick up any gear or if you want to adjust the start time.

I also looked into the campsite reservation and it looks like site 14 is available which has a nice level area for the tent and a fire ring. There's a water spigot about fifty yards away so we can refill bottles easily. I'll bring the camp stove as a backup in case there are burn restrictions. The weather forecast shows mild temperatures during the day but it could drop into the low forties at night so I'm packing an extra layer. Let me know if you want to bring your fishing gear since the lake is only a short walk from the loop.
