I was just telling my neighbor about that - I finally figured out how to get the garden hose reel working properly. It had been tangled for weeks and every time I tried to pull it out it would jam. I ended up watching a short video from a local hardware store and it turns out I was pulling it at too sharp an angle. Now it glides out smooth and rewinds evenly. I spent the whole afternoon watering the new flower bed without a single snag. Also I started using the dripper attachment which uses way less water and keeps the soil moist longer. I also added a layer of mulch around the tomatoes and they look healthier already. The whole project only took a couple of hours and now the yard looks so much more put together. I even had time to sit on the porch and watch the sunset. 3HxBCaPeIFGrT6G It felt good to finally get that done.

So my friend asked me how I manage to keep my houseplants alive and I told her it's really not that complicated. I just water them once a week and make sure they get indirect light. I had a peace lily that was drooping for months and I realized I was overwatering it. I stopped watering it for two weeks and it perked right up. Now I only check the soil moisture before I water. I also started using a little spray bottle for the fern which loves humidity and it's gotten so many new fronds. I bought a moisture meter online and that takes the guesswork out completely. Honestly it's just about paying attention and not being too generous with water. I also repotted the snake plant into a bigger pot with drainage holes and it's thriving. If you ever want to start a small collection I am happy to give you a cutting from my pothos.
