Thanks for your note about the garden project. I think starting with raised beds along the south side of the yard makes sense since that area gets the best sunlight throughout the day. We should plan for at least six hours of direct sun for tomatoes and peppers. For the soil mix, I recommend combining topsoil with compost and a bit of perlite for drainage. I have a source for bulk compost that delivers for a reasonable fee. As for the watering system, a simple drip irrigation setup with a timer would save us time and ensure consistent moisture. I can pick up the supplies this weekend if you are available to help with the assembly. Let me know your thoughts on the layout and whether you want to include any climbing plants along the fence line.
I also looked into the cost of cedar boards and they are running a bit higher than last year but still within the budget we discussed. We could also consider using untreated pine and sealing it ourselves. For the pathways, I think wood chips would look nice and help retain moisture. I will send over a rough sketch later this evening so we can finalize the dimensions before purchasing materials.
