It is funny you asked about the garden project.
I decided to go with raised beds this year instead of planting directly in the ground.
The soil quality in my backyard is mostly clay, so it made more sense to build up.
I used untreated cedar for the frames, and filled them with a mix of compost, topsoil, and perlite.
So far, the tomatoes and peppers are thriving.
I am a bit worried about the squash, though, seems like there is some powdery mildew starting.
Have you dealt with that before?
